Nine Inmates Escape Pennsylvania Juvenile Detention Facility

Nine inmates have escaped Pennsylvania’s Abraxas Academy, a juvenile detention facility, authorities said Sunday night. The escape occurred after a riot at the academy, according to local police. The inmates, all males, are currently wearing white and gray shirts and shorts, as reported by the Robeson Township Police Department in Berks County.

Although state and local law enforcement have regained control of the detention center, some of the offenders managed to escape. Police are urging residents in the vicinity of I-176 and Route 10 to remain vigilant.

It is worth noting that Berks County shares a border with Chester County, where authorities recently conducted a 14-day manhunt to capture escaped inmate Danelo Cavalcante.

This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
