Rams wide receiver, Demarcus Robinson, is taking legal action against a hotel in the Los Angeles area, claiming that they failed to adequately protect him during a robbery in the hotel lobby last year. According to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County, the incident occurred on October 20, 2023, at the Lexen Hotel in North Hollywood. Robinson alleges that two masked men entered the lobby, pulled out guns, and threatened to kill him. During the encounter, they stole items from him, including a luxury diamond watch and two diamond chains, with a total value of about $150,000.
Robinson further asserts that the hotel lacked security guards both outside and inside the lobby. He also claims that the employees working at the front desk did not contact the authorities until after the suspects had fled the scene. As a result, he is suing the hotel for negligence and seeking damages of at least $149,500, in addition to punitive damages.
Despite the emotional toll the incident took on him, Robinson played in all 16 regular season games for the Rams this year. He also participated in the team’s playoff game against the Lions, where he recorded three catches for 44 yards.
