Britney Spears’ film “Crossroads” will be available on Netflix starting Thursday, February 15. The announcement was made by Netflix on Monday, January 22. The movie, released in 2002, stars Spears, Zoe Saldana, and Taryn Manning as childhood best friends embarking on a road trip to pursue their dreams. The film, written by Shonda Rhimes and directed by Tamra Davis, also features Kim Cattrall and Dan Aykroyd. Some memorable musical moments include the girls singing ‘NSync’s “Bye, Bye, Bye” and Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.”

Before her breakout film role in “Crossroads,” Spears gained fame on “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” in the ’90s. Saldana, who later starred in blockbusters like “Avatar” and “Guardians of the Galaxy,” rated Spears’ acting skills as around a seven or eight out of ten during a 2013 interview. Justin Long, who also appeared in the film, described Spears as normal and down-to-earth during shooting. Taryn Manning, on the other hand, alleged that Spears was not allowed to talk to anyone on set.

Manning later clarified her comments, saying she had not spoken to Spears in 10 years but had a great time filming “Crossroads” and had a friendship with her during that time. Spears’ conservatorship, which had been in place for 13 years, officially ended in November 2021. “Crossroads” will be available for streaming on Netflix starting February 15.
