The tribute to Deki included a video tribute, a speech from Steve Kerr, jerseys featuring the coach’s last name, and t-shirts with the word “brate,” meaning “brother” in Russian. Milojević’s wife and children were also present during the ceremony, and cameras captured the special moment.
Curry and Thompson shared an embrace during the tribute, and Thompson was seen visibly crying while sitting on the bench. The team also set up a display on the sidelines, with a shirt and a flower placed at Deki’s seat.
Deki suffered a medical emergency during a team dinner in Salt Lake City last week. He had a heart attack and sadly passed away a day later.
