Teyana Taylor has accused her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, of playing dirty in their divorce battle. According to TMZ, Taylor’s attorney filed a court document claiming that Shumpert has been gradually cutting off utilities in the Georgia home where she lives with their two children. In the filing, Taylor alleges that the WiFi and cable were shut off and the water stopped running, all of which she believes is the result of Shumpert’s actions.
The court document also reveals that Shumpert moved out of the shared home back in October. Shortly after his departure, his brother, who handles his personal affairs, informed Taylor that Shumpert intended to cut off the power. Since then, Taylor claims that Shumpert has not paid any child support or covered any expenses for their children, including food and clothing costs.
With the water, cable, and WiFi now disconnected, Taylor’s attorney is concerned that Shumpert may proceed to shut off the gas and electricity. Additionally, Taylor alleges that Shumpert left her with $200,000 worth of unfinished home renovations from three years ago. Shumpert reportedly told her that his money was tied up in investments and proposed that she cover the costs, with the promise of reimbursement. However, Taylor has yet to receive any money from Shumpert.
Although Taylor has the financial means to handle utility bills, her attorney’s court filing emphasizes that holding Shumpert accountable is the primary concern. It is worth noting that their divorce is still pending, and the court has issued a standing order for both parties to maintain the status quo regarding their home and finances until the divorce is finalized.
In light of these allegations, Taylor’s attorney is requesting that the judge hold Shumpert in contempt for violating the court order and compel him to start providing monthly child support.
