According to Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling, the victims were walking when a car pulled up and several suspects got out and opened fire. Sadly, one of the teens lost their life, while another is in critical condition and the third is stable with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Authorities believe that the three individuals were specifically targeted in this attack. All of the victims are students at Nicholas Senn High School and range in age from 15 to 16. Mayor Brandon Johnson expressed his deep sorrow, emphasizing that it is especially tragic when young people are the victims of violence. He reassured the public that everything possible will be done to ensure the safety of the city’s children and promised to bring the shooters to justice.

Mayor Johnson, along with Superintendent Snelling, vowed to put an end to this kind of violence. They urged the community to stand together and push back against this brazen violence, promising that those who commit such crimes will be held accountable.
