Amber Portwood’s fiancé, who has been reported missing, may now be thousands of miles away from where he was last seen, according to what TMZ has found out.
Bryson City Police Department’s Assistant Chief, Wayne Dover, shared with TMZ that Gary Wayt, who has been engaged to the “Teen Mom” star for a few weeks now, is still missing. However, there’s no evidence to believe that his disappearance involves any criminal activity or self-harm.
Authorities have received reports of Gary being seen as recently as this week. He was apparently noticed in Weatherford, Oklahoma, on Tuesday morning. Dover mentioned that the individual believed to be Gary appeared relaxed and was behaving normally during this sighting.
According to police, the man identified himself as Gary while having a conversation with someone in Weatherford and seemed to be engaged in everyday activities. There was another sighting of him just west of Weatherford, where he continued to appear untroubled.
However, Assistant Chief Dover emphasized that these sightings have yet to be officially confirmed by the police, so Gary is still officially missing. Yet, these potential sightings offer the first indication that he might be safe.
Gary was last seen by Amber on Sunday evening at their hotel in North Carolina. His sudden disappearance prompted the reality TV star to report him missing and express her concern on social media. Amber noted that Gary left with his keys and wallet, but not his cellphone, after they had a conversation, which she clarified was not a major argument.
The Bryson City PD has sought the help of the FBI and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation in this missing person case.
Amber has been in contact with law enforcement about the situation, and the unexpected news of possible sightings in Oklahoma might be quite baffling for her.
