Lowell authorities have reported that 21-year-old Trevor Bady is being charged in the murder of his 15-year-old girlfriend, Ahliana Dickey, just days before her middle school graduation.

According to the police, Bady, a resident of Tewksbury, is accused of fatally shooting Dickey inside her home on Lawrence Street in Lowell. He faces a series of charges, including murder and armed home invasion.

Dickey was expected to celebrate her completion of eighth grade on June 14. However, her absence at the ceremony led her family to search for her at her residence, where they tragically discovered her body with gunshot injuries in a bedroom on the first floor.

Authorities were alerted to a disturbance at the Lawrence Street address in the early hours of June 14, following reports of a conflict between a man and woman. Witnesses heard a woman screaming for the man to leave her alone, followed by the sound of gunshots. Although police arrived in response to these reports, they were unable to find the individuals involved.

Further investigations revealed Bady’s history of abusive behavior towards Dickey. Video evidence also captured Bady leaving the scene of the crime shortly after the incident on June 14. It was uncovered that Bady had utilized an Uber for transportation to and from the location around the time of the murder.

In the wake of her untimely death, Dickey is being mourned and remembered by those closest to her as a source of inspiration and optimism.

Her friend Skyla Guthrie from Lowell shared, “She was always such a positive influence. Whenever I was feeling low, she had the ability to lift my spirits. She had ambitious dreams for her future.”
