A tragic series of shootings in North Las Vegas left five dead and one teenager critically injured, following incidents at two different apartments, according to local authorities.

The search for 57-year-old Erick Adams, the man suspected of the shootings, ended on Tuesday when North Las Vegas police reported he had taken his own life.

The violent spree began on Monday night. Law enforcement officials were called to the scene of the first apartment shortly after 10 p.m., where they discovered two women, one in her 40s and another in her 50s, who had both been shot and killed. Additionally, a 13-year-old girl was found shot at the same location and was subsequently rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

In another apartment close by, the grim discovery of three more victims, two women and a man all in their 20s, was made. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities, who had released Adams’ name and photograph on Tuesday while urging the public to assist with any information, explained that they located Adams the following morning. Confronted by police and armed, Adams fled to a nearby backyard. Despite officers commanding him to put down his weapon, Adams did not comply and ultimately ended his own life.

The motivation behind these heinous acts has yet to be disclosed by the police.
