Child Saved Following Six Flags Ride Incident

Patrons at a Texas Six Flags experienced an unexpected thrill when they ended up navigating a human-made, rapidly flowing stream, culminating in the rescue of a child from its waters.

The incident, which is drawing considerable online attention, involved visitors getting stranded on the Roaring Rapids ride at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. In footage circulating on social media, four rafts can be seen stuck together in a U shape, with one starting to fill with water.

During the ordeal, a number of guests took refuge on a nearby ledge for safety. Among them, a young boy attempted to jump to safety from his raft but ended up in the river.

The boy’s struggle against the swift current quickly became apparent, necessitating help from onlookers. He was eventually brought to safety by a guest and a park employee, though for a moment, it seemed he might be swept away.

While no serious injuries were reported, some guests did lose their footwear in the commotion, with one singular sneaker seen floating downstream, presumably belonging to the child.

A representative from Six Flags confirmed the incident, stating to TMZ, “One of the rafts on the Roaring Rapids ride became stuck. We instructed guests to stay seated in the raft while we worked to restart the ride.

All of the guests were safely evacuated from the ride without injury. The video circulating shows the guests making it safely out of the water.”

Six Flags, a company that operates numerous amusement parks nationwide, has had its share of mishaps over the years. However, fortunately, this situation did not lead to any severe consequences.

For example, in 2021, riders at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey suffered injuries on the El Toro roller coaster, leading to a 10-month closure of the attraction before it reopened last summer.

Despite the frightening moment, the situation at the Roaring Rapids ride in Texas ultimately concluded without severe harm.
