Clint Bowyer Makes NASCAR Comeback

Additional Coverage:

Clint Bowyer has arrived in Nashville, energized for the upcoming NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday night. However, this time he’s not going to be in the announcer’s booth – he’s hitting the track as a competitor.

After stepping away from full-time racing post the 2020 season, the NASCAR on Fox commentator is set to participate in his first NASCAR race since retirement. He’ll be behind the wheel of the No. 7 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports at Nashville Superspeedway, with Rush Truck Center backing him as his sponsor.

Bowyer couldn’t hide his excitement about returning to the racecourse. He expressed his eagerness on X social media platform, saying, “Hot damn, here we go again!

Looking forward to racing in Music City.” He extended his gratitude to Brian Pattie and the team at Spire Motorsports for this opportunity, also acknowledging Rush Truck Center for their support.

Brian Pattie, who was Bowyer’s crew chief at Michael Waltrip Racing between 2012 and 2015, will be teaming up with him once again. Their previous collaboration saw some of Bowyer’s top performances in the NASCAR Cup Series, including a second-place finish in the standings in 2012 and 10 Cup Series victories.

Bowyer, who has notched three wins in 14 Craftsman Truck Series races, is no stranger to the format. This comeback is not only about competing; it’s also a chance for him to stay primed for when he returns to the Fox NASCAR booth next season.

The race is scheduled to be aired live on FS2, with the competition set to begin around 8 p.m. ET this Friday.
