Additional Coverage:

Iconic songwriter Carol Connors is opening up about her storied career in both a revealing new book and an upcoming documentary. Connors, who has had close associations with many of Hollywood’s A-listers, has just released her memoir titled “Elvis, ‘Rocky’ & Me,” and TMZ has learned that a documentary of the same name is also on the way.

Having soared to fame with her smash hit “To Know Him Is To Love Him,” produced by the notorious Phil Spector, Connors plans to delve deeper into her life’s narrative through both her book and the documentary. Among the high points of her tales is her more than a year-long relationship with Elvis Presley, which began after he expressed a desire to meet her, following the success of her hit song. Connors will also share an intimate look at the night Presley passed away, when she wrote “You Loved My Night Away.”

One of the more harrowing stories Connors will share involves a threatening encounter with Phil Spector, where she claims he pinned her against a wall and threatened her life over a song. Additionally, Connors’ contributions to the iconic “Rocky” series theme song, “Gonna Fly Now,” will be highlighted, underscoring her musical legacy that continues to inspire.

Beyond her music career, Connors boasts accolades including two Oscar nominations, as well as nominations for three Emmys and two Golden Globes, although she has not yet claimed victory with these honors. Her journey has also intersected with notable figures such as Steve McQueen and O.J. Simpson — the latter of whom she testified at his trial.

The documentary “Elvis, Rocky & Me” is currently in the preproduction stages and is expected to premiere later this year. This project promises to be a comprehensive chronicle of Connors’ fascinating life and career, filled with tales from her interactions with some of entertainment’s biggest names.
