William Daniels and his wife Bonnie Bartlett Daniels recently marked a significant anniversary in their marriage.
This year, William Daniels celebrated his 97th birthday, and his spouse reached the age of 95. However, it’s not just their impressive ages that stand out, but also the remarkable 73 years they’ve spent together as a married pair.
Bonnie Bartlett Daniels shared with PEOPLE magazine, “It feels like we’re setting new records.” She reflected on the couple’s unique achievement of winning Emmys on the same evening for the same television show, noting it was an unprecedented event. Now, with a marriage spanning 73 years, they feel they are again breaking records, especially in Hollywood where long-lasting marriages are rare.
The Daniels, who met while students at Northwestern University, exchanged vows in Moline, Illinois, on June 30, 1951. Together, they have two sons, Michael and Robert, and endured the loss of their first child, William Jr., shortly after his birth.
In a reflection on their enduring partnership, Bonnie, known for her role on “Little House on the Prairie,” emphasized the ever-present opportunity for surprise and learning in their relationship. “You never stop being surprised,” she said, pointing out that even after decades together, they continue to surprise each other.
William Daniels is best remembered for his role as Mr. Feeny in the television series “Boy Meets World,” which aired from 1993 to 2000. Around his 96th birthday, he enjoyed a reunion with former co-stars Will Friedle, Danielle Fishel, and Rider Strong, who had portrayed key characters on the show.
Friedle commended Daniels for continuing to share wisdom, and Fishel echoed the sentiment, noting Bill always has insightful observations to share if one is willing to listen.
Now somewhat removed from their Hollywood careers, the Daniels find joy in a quieter life with their three sons and grandchildren. According to Bonnie Bartlett Daniels, their days are filled with reading, engaging with fans through Cameos, attending conventions, and enjoying each other’s company, always ready to support one another.
