Prince William and Prince George Attend Euro Final in Berlin

Additional Coverage:

Prince George was thrilled while watching the UEFA European Championship finals this past Sunday, July 14, alongside his father, Prince William. The pair traveled to Berlin to see the match between England and Spain.

Both avid soccer fans, Prince William, 42, and George, 10, donned matching sleek black suits for their sporty outing. William holds the position of president and patron for the Football Association in England. The UEFA, also known as the Union of European Football Associations, organizes the European Championship every four years, an event where England has yet to win.

While the father and son enjoyed their soccer outing, William’s wife, Kate Middleton, 42, and their daughter, Princess Charlotte, 9, were at Wimbledon watching the men’s singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Seated in the Royal Box at Centre Court, they were joined by Middleton’s sister, Pippa. This appearance by Princess Kate was particularly notable as she is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, including preventive chemotherapy.

Earlier in the season, William’s enthusiasm for soccer had him attending several UEFA games, including a EURO 2024 Group Stage game in Frankfurt on June 20 where he spent time with Danish King Frederik X. On July 6, he caught a quarterfinal match in Düsseldorf between England and Switzerland, where he was famously captured in viral social media footage cheering enthusiastically.

The Royal family’s sporting event attendance continued with Prince William participating in the Charity Polo Cup on July 12 in Windsor, an event meant to raise money for various charities he backs, even though Kate was unable to attend due to her treatment.

Just recently, Kate made her first public appearance since her cancer diagnosis at the Trooping the Colour on June 15, celebrating King Charles’ official birthday parade with William, George, Charlotte, and their youngest son, Prince Louis, 6.
