Terrell Davis Detained Following Airplane Altercation with Flight Attendant

Additional Coverage:

Terrell Davis, a retired Denver Broncos star, was handcuffed and escorted off a plane after a dispute with a flight attendant this past weekend, despite insisting he was not at fault. The incident occurred on a United Airlines flight from Denver to Orange County on Saturday.

Davis explained in an Instagram post that the confrontation began when his son requested ice from a flight attendant during service. According to Davis, after the attendant ignored the request, he tapped the attendant’s arm to get his attention, which led the attendant to react defensively and walk away.

Davis stated that there were no further interactions with the flight attendant for the rest of the flight. However, upon landing in California, the pilot instructed all passengers to remain seated, and Davis was apprehensively approached by six law enforcement officers, including FBI agents, who then handcuffed him.

He was taken off the aircraft under the watchful eyes of filming passengers. Davis was later released and said that the agents apologized profusely for the incident.

Following the ordeal, Davis is now seeking answers from United Airlines and hinted at possible legal action against the airline, expressing concern over the potential damage to his reputation stemming from the allegations. The FBI confirmed their response to an incident at John Wayne Airport but did not explicitly name Davis. They mentioned that the individual involved was cooperative and was allowed to resume his travels.

Terrell Davis is well-known for his successful NFL career, spanning from 1995 to 2001, capped by his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
