J. Michael Cline, the entrepreneur best known for founding the popular movie ticketing app Fandango, tragically died after jumping from a New York City building, confirmed sources at TMZ.

According to law enforcement, Cline leaped from the 20th floor of The Kimberly Hotel in Manhattan and was found in a courtyard on the third floor early Tuesday morning.

Authorities discovered a suicide note in his hotel room which stated, “So sorry. I can’t explain the pain of f****** up this much.

I love you all.” It is reported that he left the note before heading to the balcony from where he jumped.

Cline was instrumental in launching Fandango in 2000 and had significant involvement with start-up funding enterprises such as Accretive and Juxtapose. He also founded several other companies including tech firm R1 RCM, Insureon—a business insurance company, and Everspring, which offers education solutions.

Cline had been married to his wife Pamela since 1995, together sharing six children. In late 2020, the couple purchased a home in Palm Beach for just over $20 million, as reported by the Palm Beach Daily News.

Cline was 64 years old at the time of his death.
