Kate Hudson recently opened up about her short but “lovely” past relationship with Nick Jonas. The 45-year-old actress discussed her former romantic connection with Jonas during an episode of Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” that aired on July 17. Cohen brought up the past rumors linking Hudson to the “Sucker” singer during the show’s “Plead the Fifth” segment.
Cohen reminded Hudson of the prevalent rumors back in 2015 and 2016 about her and Jonas, noting that she had evaded confirming their relationship publicly. He asked her to reflect on that relationship, to which Hudson described as a brief, yet enjoyable time with the much younger Jonas, likening him to “an old man in a young man’s body.”
Though Hudson and Jonas had never officially confirmed they were dating at the time, they were first linked together in 2015 after being spotted at Disney World. Subsequent sightings included various outings, such as a trip to a ski resort in California in January 2016.
Back in 2015, Hudson avoided discussing the dating rumors on “Watch What Happens Live,” simply stating she doesn’t engage with gossip. In a 2016 interview with “Complex,” Jonas did not confirm their dating status but expressed high regard for Hudson, praising their significant connection.
Both Hudson and Jonas have since moved on from their brief romance. Jonas, now 31, married actress Priyanka Chopra in 2018 and they have a three-year-old daughter, Malti.
Hudson has been in a relationship with Danny Fujikawa since 2017, got engaged in 2021, and the couple has a five-year-old daughter, Rani Rose. Hudson also has two sons from previous relationships.
In addition to discussing her past with Jonas, Hudson mentioned during her appearance on the show how taking a year off from dating led to multiple celebrities reaching out to her via social dating messages, which she found flattering.
