Man Charged in Fatal Shooting of Five, Including Family Members

An Alabama resident has been arrested and faces charges of capital murder following the tragic shooting of five individuals, including his own family members, in West Blocton, Bibb County. The violent act took place last Thursday night around 10 p.m., according to the State Bureau of Investigation of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The man, identified as 32-year-old Brandon Kendrick, allegedly killed his wife, 24-year-old Kelsey Kendrick, a 2-year-old child, and three other children aged 6 and 9. Officials reported that two of the killed children were Kendrick’s own and the remaining two were other family members.

Following the incident, Kendrick was taken into custody without the possibility of bond and is being held at the Bibb County Jail, charged with five counts of capital murder. Details about his legal representation remain unknown at this time.

Currently, the State Bureau of Investigation is conducting a detailed probe into the killings. Findings from their investigation will eventually be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office of Alabama’s Fourth Judicial Circuit. However, many details including the possible motive behind the shootings have not been disclosed as the investigation is still underway.
