Hugh Jackman recently entertained not only a general audience but also the children of his friend and fellow actor, Ryan Reynolds. During a SiriusXM interview on a Friday, Reynolds shared how he once found Jackman, at the age of 55, engaging with his kids in a lively reenactment of scenes from “The Greatest Showman.”

Reynolds, 47, described stumbling upon this family scene: “I walked in, heard ‘The Greatest Showman’ in the background, and as I turned the corner, there were my kids watching the film and singing along with Hugh right there acting it out. He was like a big kid.”

Describing it as one of the “most beautiful and heartwarming scenes” he had ever witnessed, Reynolds humorously admitted that Jackman has outshone him both as a musical performer and as a father. He joked about starting a new life elsewhere as a result.

The 2017 film “The Greatest Showman,” in which Jackman stars as P.T. Barnum, is a favorite in the Reynolds household, watched frequently by his children — daughters Betty, James, Inez, and a fourth child whose name remains undisclosed, all shared with his wife, Blake Lively.

Jackman and Reynolds are set to reunite onscreen in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” their first joint project since “Wolverine: Origins” in 2009. This film will mark the debut of the X-Men in the Disney-owned Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reynolds noted in a November 2022 interview with Collider that incorporating Jackman into the project was an undeniable asset, which involved navigating complex negotiations following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

The forthcoming R-rated “Deadpool & Wolverine” film, which has already won the approval of Reynolds’ oldest daughter, is set to release on July 26 and will contain references to “The Greatest Showman” in a “surprising” manner, as cited in The New York Times.
