Matthew Perry and Assistant Purchased $55K Worth of Ketamine Before His Death

Additional Coverage:

Newly disclosed court records reveal that Matthew Perry and his live-in assistant, Kenny Iwamasa, were involved in transactions exceeding $55,000 for 55 vials of ketamine, leading up to the actor’s death on October 28, 2023. These documents, obtained by Us Weekly, showcase frequent requests for more ketamine by Iwamasa, including illegal activities during the early morning hours.

The court filings detail encounters where Perry and Iwamasa met with Dr. Salvador Plasencia, referred to as “Dr.

P.” in the records, in discreet locations like car parks for ketamine injections. Despite ketamine’s legitimate medical use as an anesthetic, and sometimes prescribed for depression, its recreational use can be hazardous.

The records further divulge frightening instances of excessive dosages, including one where Perry was injected by Dr. P. just hours after a previous ketamine treatment, resulting in a dangerous spike in his systolic blood pressure that left him incapacitated.

Kenny Iwamasa, along with several other individuals including Jasveen Sangha, Dr. Mark Chavez, and an associate of Perry, Erik Fleming, face charges linked to Perry’s death. Following the tragedy, Iwamasa has pleaded guilty to a count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death.

The timeline outlined by the Department of Justice captures a series of illicit drug transactions and risky medical procedures that culminated tragically. From repeated meetings with Dr.

P. for injections at Perry’s home to transactions facilitated by intermediaries like Erik Fleming, the document paints a grim picture of the days leading to Perry’s overdose. On the fatal day of October 28, it was reported that Perry’s last words to Iwamasa were a request for a substantial injection, to which Iwamasa complied, administering at least three shots of ketamine.
