PARIS, FRANCE – Emily Ratajkowski made an appearance at the Loewe Menswear Spring/Summer 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week on June 22, 2024. This event took place in Paris, France, and her attendance was captured in a photo by Pascal Le Segretain for Getty Images.

Emily Ratajkowski recently addressed criticisms over her fashion choices via a social media post. The model and author, who faced backlash for wearing a snug gray tank top paired with black low-rise jeans, shared a video capturing the moment.

During the video, a bystander’s voice is heard telling her to “put on a shirt.” Unperturbed, Ratajkowski continued on her way, later augmenting her video with a snippet from Charli XCX’s hit “365” from her album “Brat,” underscoring her defiance.

In her social media post, Ratajkowski used the term “demure,” a trending concept on TikTok that promotes quaint, modest attire and demeanor. She juxtaposed this with her own summer style, which she identified as “brat summer,” characterized by vivid, bold, and sometimes provocative fashion statements resonant of the Y2K style prominent among Gen Z. Charli XCX described the “brat” style as one that can oscillate between luxury and casual with no set fashion rules, but might include items like Von Dutch caps, baby tees, and strappy tank tops.

Reflecting on her career and public persona in her 2021 book “My Body,” Ratajkowski discussed the complex nature of navigating female sexuality within the entertainment sector. During an interview with USA TODAY, she expressed that leveraging her sexuality and image has been both empowering and intricate, attributing her success to such strategies.
