TLC Cancels NY Concert as T-Boz Hospitalized

Additional Coverage:

T-Boz, also known as Tionne Watkins from the pop group TLC, has been hospitalized due to an abdominal blockage, leading to the cancellation of the band’s recent performances. Initially thought to be food poisoning, the condition forced the group to cancel their Saturday night show at Foxwoods in Connecticut and a Friday night concert at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. The last-minute announcement of Friday’s cancellation was made just 30 minutes before the concert was set to begin, leaving many fans disappointed.

The group revealed that doctors later diagnosed the singer with an abdominal blockage rather than food poisoning, as initially suspected. This has led to continued medical care, including monitoring and a CT scan, with hopes of her recovery and release from the hospital by Sunday.

Amid these health concerns, TLC has expressed regret over the necessity to cancel the shows, apologizing to fans and event promoters. This isn’t the first disruption in their current tour schedule, as earlier in May, the group also had to cancel performances in Canada due to a flu outbreak among its members.

Despite these setbacks, TLC is looking to reschedule the missed events, though no specific dates have been confirmed yet. The group last performed on Thursday night in Toledo, just before the onset of T-Boz’s health issues.
