Oldest Living Man Turns 112

Additional Coverage:

On August 26, John Alfred Tinniswood, recognized as the world’s oldest living man, celebrated his 112th birthday in a Southport care home in England. Born in 1912, just months after historical events such as the Titanic’s sinking and Arizona’s statehood, Tinniswood was recently awarded this title by Guinness World Records.

When asked about achieving this longevity milestone, Tinniswood expressed indifferent feelings about his age, suggesting that his nonchalant attitude towards life’s milestones may have contributed to his long life.

“I don’t feel that age, I don’t get excited over it. That’s probably why I’ve reached it. I just take it in my stride like anything else,” he commented.

Despite his impressive age, Tinniswood admits he doesn’t possess any unique secrets to longevity, though he did note his active lifestyle as a young man, often engaging in long walks. For him, the essence of his longevity seems more grounded in his everyday attitude rather than any specific health regimen.
