Armie Hammer Struggles Financially Amid Career Collapse and Scandal Allegations

Additional Coverage:

Actor Armie Hammer, once a shining star of Hollywood, has faced significant setbacks following allegations of abuse and sexual assault made by several women. Hammer has revealed that since moving back to Los Angeles from the Cayman Islands, where he lived for a time post-allegations, he has had to sell his pickup truck due to the high cost of gas.

Hammer first rose to fame in the 2010s with his role in “Call Me By Your Name,” but his rising career hit a roadblock in early 2021 when he was accused of abuse by multiple women who also released explicit messages reportedly from him. These accusations led to a two-year police investigation initiated in March 2021, when one accuser claimed Hammer had raped her in 2017; however, no charges were filed against him. Despite denying the claims, calling them “bullshit” in a 2021 statement to Variety, Hammer later acknowledged in a 2023 Air Mail interview that he was emotionally abusive toward his accusers.

The fallout from these allegations included being dropped by his agent and publicist, and Hammer has not taken on major acting roles since his part in the 2022 film “Death on the Nile,” filmed in 2019. He admitted in a recent podcast that he no longer has access to family wealth and is facing financial difficulties.

Currently, Hammer shared in an Instagram post that he is trying to adjust to life back in LA, marking his birthday with the start of a “new life” in a new apartment and a more affordable hybrid car, aiming for simpler times with fewer expenses. Hammer expressed nostalgia for his truck but views this change as a fresh beginning.

There’s speculation that Hammer’s return to LA might be an attempt to revive his career. He mentioned on a podcast that he has co-written a script and hopes to see it turned into a film project soon. Despite his challenges, Hammer appears committed to restructuring his life and pursuing new opportunities in the industry.
