The Los Angeles Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office has disclosed that Lucy-Bleu Knight, the stepdaughter of famed Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, died from hydrogen sulfide toxicity in what has been ruled a suicide. Knight was 25 years old at the time of her death, which occurred on July 19. She was discovered unconscious during a welfare check by law enforcement at a private home and was declared deceased at 3 p.m. that same day.

Hydrogen sulfide, as described by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is a colorless, highly toxic gas that can lead to rapid unconsciousness and death when inhaled at high concentrations.

Slash, born Saul Hudson, shared the news of Knight’s passing on Instagram on July 21. In his tribute, he described Knight as “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.” Knight, born on December 6, 1998, was the daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, and the sister and stepsister to Scarlet Knight, London, and Cash Hudson respectively.

Following the announcement, Slash received an outpouring of condolences from friends and fans alike, including personal messages from Guns N’ Roses band members and associates. Melissa Reese, Susan Holmes McKagan, and Richard Fortus were among those who expressed their deep sympathies on social media.

In one of her final Instagram posts, Knight conveyed apologies to her peers for past behaviors, suggesting a reflective acknowledgment of her personal struggles.

Knight is survived by her mother, Meegan Hodges, with whom Slash is currently partnered, and her step-siblings, London and Cash Hudson, Slash’s sons from his previous marriage to Perla Ferrar.
