Throughout his ascent to Olympic glory, Team USA shot putter Ryan Crouser has consistently been supported by his girlfriend, Megan Clark. “She’s been by my side throughout this entire journey,” Crouser revealed to Us Weekly on August 27, while discussing his use of Thorne’s NSF Certified for Sport Supplements.

“Having her has been a blessing. It’s tough being a professional track and field athlete with all the time commitments and sacrifices.

Social outings like spending a night out on weekends aren’t really an option, but she gets the dedication this sport requires.”

Before joining the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as a student, Clark pursued professional pole vaulting from 2006 until 2021. Currently, she prioritizes her medical studies over athletics. Crouser recently celebrated her success on the Step 2 exam, appreciating her dual role in his life, supporting both his career and personal well-being.

In addition to her medical studies, Clark finds time to assist Crouser with physical therapy and massages. Her multifaceted support contributed to him becoming the first-ever shot putter to win three Olympic gold medals.

“Besides giving me mental support, she’s physically aided my training as my physio and even volunteered for USA Track and Field,” he added. “She’s truly exceptional, selflessly contributing to both our lives and my career.”

Although Crouser doesn’t frequently share details about his relationship on social media, he confirmed that they have been together since fall 2017.

As Clark navigates the pressures of medical school, Crouser supports her in return. “Occasionally, I’ve had to provide a bit of coaching to help her manage the stress of studies,” he joked, emphasizing their strong teamwork.

Away from personal matters, Crouser remains focused on his athletic career, currently preparing for the 2024 Rome Diamond League. He adheres to a rigorous dietary regimen, consuming 5,000 calories and 350 grams of protein daily, along with his preferred Thorne supplements to ensure a well-rounded intake of micronutrients.

After a triumphant performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Crouser is not slowing down. Motivated by the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, he aims to conclude his career with a memorable finish on home soil. Recalling his faint memories of the Atlanta Olympics from when he was a toddler, Crouser expressed his excitement about the possibility of participating in an Olympics in the U.S., calling it a dream opportunity.
