A GoFundMe campaign established to support Madeline Gaudreau, widow of the late Matthew Gaudreau, has vastly exceeded its financial goals. As detailed on the fundraising page, Madeline faces immense grief along with unexpected financial challenges following the tragic loss of her husband. The campaign aims to provide financial relief so she can focus on healing with her family and their unborn child, Tripp.

Tragically, Matthew and his sibling, NHL player Johnny Gaudreau, lost their lives in a bicycle accident on August 29, caused by an impaired driver who has since faced charges. Both brothers were in their early thirties at the time of the incident. Their family expressed their deep sorrow, acknowledging the overwhelming support received from friends, fans, and the community.

Johnny Gaudreau, known for his time with the Columbus Blue Jackets, is survived by his wife Meredith and their two children, alongside his parents and sisters. Matthew leaves behind his pregnant wife, Madeline.

The fundraiser, initiated by Holland Korbitz with a goal of $30,000, will aid in covering funeral costs and supporting Madeline’s future expenses as she prepares for the arrival of their child. Since its launch, it has raised over $325,000, thanks to contributions from around 4,000 donors, including former teammate, Matthew Tkachuk.

While Madeline has yet to make a public statement regarding the tragic events, Meredith shared her grief on social media, reflecting on the precious years she spent with Johnny and expressing her enduring love.
