In a ringing endorsement, pop superstar Taylor Swift has thrown her support behind the Harris-Walz campaign. Shortly after Swift’s endorsement, the campaign launched a set of friendship bracelets available for purchase.

The campaign website excitedly announced, “Are you ready for it? Harris-Walz friendship bracelets are here!”

Just an hour after Swift endorsed Harris and Walz following the ABC News presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, the campaign began selling the bracelets inspired by Swift. On Instagram, Swift declared her support, stating, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” noting that Harris embodies the fight for important causes.

The Harris-Walz friendship bracelets, priced at $20 for a pair, feature adjustable blue and black thread with cream-colored clay beads spelling out “Harris Walz 24.” The campaign’s tag line nods to Swift’s hit song “…

Ready For It?” from her 2017 “reputation” album.

These bracelets are a nod to a popular trend from “The Eras Tour,” where fans exchange handmade friendship bracelets inspired by Swift’s “You’re On Your Own, Kid” from her 2022 “Midnights” album.

The campaign’s X account, KamalaHQ, promptly posted an edit of Swift’s endorsement under the caption, “Kamala is ready for it.”

In an MSNBC interview, Harris’ running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, expressed his gratitude for Swift’s endorsement, humorously connecting over their mutual cat ownership. Walz praised Swift’s courage and eloquence as the kind of leadership needed in America today.

Ahead of the November elections, the Harris-Walz campaign has focused on strategic merchandise, aiming to appeal to Gen Z voters with trendy items ranging from camo hats reminiscent of Chappell Roan’s tour merchandise to collaborations with fashion designers like Vera Wang and Tory Burch for their “Designers for Democracy” collection. Their social media strategy has also embraced Gen Z trends, including references to Charli XCX’s “brat” summer.

Representatives for both Swift and the Harris-Walz campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
