Harris to Ramp Up Campaign Efforts After Debate

Additional Coverage:

In a push towards a more aggressive campaigning approach, Vice President Kamala Harris will be visiting key battleground states, starting with North Carolina on Thursday and Pennsylvania on Friday, according to her campaign.

Harris is scheduled to host two rallies in North Carolina and one in Pennsylvania as part of the launch of her “New Way Forward Tour.” Her campaign indicated that this tour aims to build on her significant debate victory over former President Donald Trump, as seen in the recent ABC News debate.

The campaign team spent Wednesday reviewing debate footage to select highlights for upcoming advertisements, praising Harris for her “commanding debate performance.”

This next phase will also involve Harris increasing her media engagements, especially targeting battleground states and other crucial voter groups. Local media interviews are on the schedule, along with a discussion with the National Association of Black Journalists next week.

Additional supporters on the campaign trail include Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and Gwen Walz. Emhoff will campaign in Arizona and Nevada on Thursday, Gov. Walz will be in Michigan on Thursday and Wisconsin on Friday, while Gwen Walz will head to New Hampshire on Thursday.

The tour will also feature various surrogate events, such as a “Republicans for Harris” gathering in Phoenix, Arizona, an HBCU student event in Savannah, Georgia, and a veterans and military families event in Columbus, Georgia.
