Candiace Dillard Bassett, known for her role on “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” found herself nearly in tears multiple times during her recent baby shower.

Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly, the Bravo star shared details about the enchanting event held in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, September 7, complete with “French provincial style” decorations and stunning photos of the celebration.

“I almost cried three times on the way to the venue,” Candiace, 37, revealed to Us. “Celebrating the impending birth of our son still feels surreal.”

Candiace and her husband Chris Bassett had earlier announced to Us that they were expecting a baby boy. Candiace first shared news of her pregnancy back in April.

Describing the party, Candiace said, “Walking into the beautiful space felt like a dream. Seeing my family, including my parents, grandmother, aunties, and friends who have known and loved us from the beginning — there’s no greater feeling.”

The event was made even more special with the presence of her “RHOP” friends Charrisse Jackson-Jordan and Askale Davis, whom she affectionately referred to as her “girls.” Candiace had announced her departure from “RHOP” earlier this year.

The couple aimed to keep the co-ed shower more “intimate” than past events, curating a guest list of family, close friends, and admired mothers. The theme closely mirrored their wedding, planned by Sauvage Events.

“The space transformed into a dreamscape with lush greenery, crystal chandeliers, scalloped wood details, and rattan hot air balloons,” said Candiace. “We also had a local DJ, Alex Love, and a cornhole board on the terrace to mix things up.”

Candiace explained her vision for the shower: “I wanted it to feel like an elevated party and family reunion. While aiming for an immaculate setting, we also wanted it to be warm, inviting, and fun.”

As she looks forward to becoming a mom, Candiace shared, “I’m anxious but ready. Every day brings more excitement to see, hold, and get to know our son.

I’ve been praying for a smooth labor and a safe delivery, and preparing through stretching. This entire experience is a miracle, and Chris and I are incredibly grateful.”

Their baby boy is expected to arrive before the end of the year. Scroll down for photos from their shower.
