Following a shocking moment where Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro during a performance, the band has issued a public apology and shared an update.

“We apologize deeply to our fans for what happened last night,” the band posted on their Instagram story. “Because of this, we will be canceling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport.”

The band assured fans that refunds would be available where tickets were purchased, but did not provide further details about the incident.

Despite the apology for Friday’s onstage fight, Jane’s Addiction gave no further explanation.

A viral video circulating on social media displays Farrell aggressively colliding with Navarro while performing “Ocean Size” at the Lender Pavilion in Boston. Farrell is seen yelling at Navarro, who tries to calm the situation by holding Farrell at arm’s length.

Before crew members could intervene, Farrell threw a punch at Navarro and had to be restrained, leading to the abrupt end of the show as the venue went dark.

The morning after the altercation, Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, shared her perspective on what led to the onstage confrontation.

In a social media post, she explained that tension and frustration had been building within the band. Perry Farrell had been struggling with tinnitus and a sore throat, which were exacerbated when audience members complained about the loud volume. This, she claims, led to Farrell’s outburst.

Etty Lau also stated the band began “Ocean Size” before Perry was prepared, causing him to shout in an attempt to be heard over the instruments.

She mentioned that band bassist Eric Avery intervened physically, resulting in Perry being held back and punched.

“Perry erupted after the audience complained about the sound, feeling overwhelmed by the loud instruments,” she wrote, describing her husband as “a crazed beast” even after being taken offstage.

Etty Lau commented on Navarro’s composed demeanor during the fight, contrasting it with her husband’s emotional breakdown.

There is no update about the status of Jane’s Addiction’s Wednesday show in Toronto, following the cancellation of the Connecticut show. The band’s representative did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
