Meteorologist Rescues Driver From Floodwaters

During Hurricane Helene, FOX Weather meteorologist Bob Van Dillen rescued a woman trapped in her car as floodwaters rose.

Van Dillen witnessed the woman’s distress and realized he had to act. Despite the ongoing live broadcast, he waded into chest-deep water and assisted the woman, who was submerged up to her neck.

He unbuckled her seatbelt, retrieved her belongings, and carried her to safety. The woman was cold and in shock, but thanks to Van Dillen’s quick thinking, she was unharmed.

Van Dillen’s heroic act has been praised, with many crediting him for saving the woman’s life.

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida and brought heavy rainfall, causing widespread flash flooding. The flash flood threat extends from the Southeast to the mid-Atlantic, posing a danger to residents.
