Parents Turn In Teens Suspected in LA Flash Mob Robberies

Additional Coverage:

A group of teenagers has been arrested for carrying out flash mob robberies at 14 7-Eleven stores in Los Angeles.

The suspects, between 20 and 40 in number, targeted the stores between July 12 and September 20, stealing items, damaging shelves, and throwing bananas at employees. The robberies occurred on Friday evenings in various neighborhoods.

Parents identified their children in surveillance footage released by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and turned them in to authorities. One teen has been charged with robbery.

The stores reported approximately $30,000 in damages. The LAPD stated that the suspects acted with disregard for others’ safety, but no injuries were reported.

The police have increased patrols and are using a task force to crack down on the teens. Detective Samuel Arnold warned that consequences will be faced for such behavior.

Anyone with information or footage related to the robberies is encouraged to contact the LAPD.
