NASCAR’s Historic Crash at Talladega

On Sunday at the YellaWood 500 in Alabama, a massive crash involving 27 cars erupted with just five laps remaining. The incident, known as “The Big One,” occurred at the front of the pack and wiped out most of the leaders.

Austin Cindric and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were vying for the lead when Cindric spun out after a collision with Brad Keselowski. This triggered a chain reaction that engulfed almost the entire pack.

The crash involved many top drivers, including eight playoff contenders. Despite the chaos, Stenhouse managed to emerge victorious after a thrilling three-way finish with Keselowski and William Byron.

This incident marks the largest documented crash in NASCAR’s modern history, surpassing the previous record of 27 cars involved. The scale of the pileup has cemented its place as one of the most memorable events in the sport’s history.
