Man Convicted For Nazi Salute Vows To Repeat It

In a landmark decision, Australia has convicted its first Nazi for performing the outlawed Nazi salute.

Jacob Hersant, 25, gave the salute and praised Adolf Hitler outside court in Victoria after appearing on an unrelated charge. The salute had been banned by the state government just days prior.

Hersant initially denied giving the salute, but later admitted to being a Nazi and vowed to continue using the gesture. He faces up to 12 months in prison and a fine when sentenced next week.

The conviction comes amid nationwide efforts to outlaw Nazi symbols. The Federal Parliament recently passed legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi hate symbols.

Anti-Semitism activist Dvir Abramovich praised the verdict, calling it a victory for justice and decency.
