Lisa Marie Presley Kept Son’s Body Home After Death

Additional Coverage:

In a posthumous memoir, Lisa Marie Presley reveals how she coped with the tragic loss of her son, Benjamin Keough.

After Benjamin’s death by suicide in 2020, Presley kept his body in her home on dry ice for two months. She felt it was important to have ample time to say goodbye, similar to what she did with her father, Elvis Presley.

Presley struggled with addiction and grief, but she remained sober to honor Benjamin. She found a funeral home that accommodated her request to keep his body in a temperature-controlled room.

The funeral and burial were delayed as Presley grappled with the decision of where to lay Benjamin to rest. Eventually, he was buried at Graceland, next to his grandfather.

Presley’s grief was overwhelming, and she expressed guilt for Benjamin’s death. She passed away in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and sorrow.
