Dog Rescued From Hurricane Gets New Name

Additional Coverage:

During Hurricane Milton, a bull terrier stranded on Interstate 75 was rescued by a Tampa Highway Patrolman.

The dog, named Trooper, was terrified and barking, standing in floodwaters. The trooper showed immense care in calming him down.

Trooper is now in the Leon County Humane Society’s care. They believe he may have been tied up during the evacuation.

Trooper is stressed but gradually warming up to people. He enjoys swimming but may not be suitable for homes with children.

The society emphasizes that Trooper is not the only animal in need and encourages people to consider adopting other dogs and cats.
