Penn State Stuns USC in Overtime Thriller

Penn State rallied from a 14-point deficit in the second half to defeat USC 33-30 in overtime on Saturday. Tyler Warren set an FBS record with 17 catches for 224 yards and a touchdown for the Nittany Lions.

USC jumped out to a 20-6 halftime lead, but Penn State quarterback Drew Allar threw for 391 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-tying score with 2:53 left in regulation.

In overtime, Penn State’s Ryan Barker kicked a 36-yard field goal, while USC missed a 45-yard attempt.

USC’s Quentin Joyner scored two early touchdowns, but the Trojans have now lost three of their last four games and haven’t beaten a top-five team since 2017.

Highlights:

  • Tyler Warren’s 17 catches and 224 yards tied an FBS record.
  • Drew Allar set a career-high with 391 passing yards.
  • Penn State came back from a 14-point deficit in the second half.

Analysis:

Penn State’s win was impressive, but their slow start and defensive struggles raise concerns for future opponents. USC showed resilience after last week’s loss, but their inability to close out games remains a major issue.
