Ridley Shut Out in Titans Loss

Additional Coverage:

The Tennessee Titans signed wide receiver Calvin Ridley to a lucrative $92 million contract this offseason. However, Ridley’s performance has been disappointing so far, with no catches in Sunday’s loss to Indianapolis.

Ridley expressed frustration, stating that he needs the ball thrown to him earlier. Quarterback Will Levis targeted Ridley eight times, but none resulted in catches.

The Colts’ defense stifled Ridley, playing aggressive man-to-man coverage. Coach Shane Steichen acknowledged Ridley’s skill but credited his defenders for their success.

Titans coach Brian Callahan emphasized that the team cannot win without Ridley’s contributions. Ridley had one rush for 9 yards but acknowledged his poor performance.

Despite being targeted 27 times, Ridley has only nine receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown. DeAndre Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowl receiver, has emerged as the team’s top pass-catcher with 14 receptions and 175 yards.

Hopkins emphasized that the team’s performance is not solely dependent on Ridley, and everyone needs to contribute.
