Hostage’s Parents Accuse Leaders of Failing Them

On October 7, 2023, Hersh Goldberg-Polin was taken hostage by Hamas during an attack on Israel. After more than 300 days in captivity, he was killed by his captors.

His parents, Jon Polin and Rachel Goldberg-Polin, have blamed Hamas for their son’s death but also expressed disappointment in Israeli, American, and global leaders. They believe these leaders failed to take sufficient action to secure his release.

Despite their grief, the Goldberg-Polins remain focused on advocating for the 101 hostages still being held captive in Gaza. They urge diplomatic efforts to negotiate their safe return.

The Goldberg-Polins have found support from both the Jewish and Christian communities, despite their loss. Their faith in God remains strong, but their faith in humanity has diminished due to the lack of action from leaders to rescue their son.
