Jimmy Carter Votes for First Female Vice President

Additional Coverage:

Former President Jimmy Carter, now 100 years old, recently cast his vote in Georgia’s presidential election. Despite receiving hospice care at home since February, he fulfilled his wish to live long enough to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Carter became the first former president to reach the age of 100. He lost his wife of 77 years, Rosalynn Carter, in November. Despite being in a wheelchair, he attended her memorial service.

Carter had previously expressed his desire to vote for Harris to a family member, according to his grandson Jason Carter. Despite the typical hospice care duration of 63 days, Carter has exceeded this by more than 19 months.
