A 49-year-old woman, Kelli Ryan, was arrested in Miami after allegedly attacking a 65-year-old woman on an MSC cruise ship.
Surveillance footage captured Ryan slapping the older woman in the ship’s theater. Ryan’s 23-year-old son, Dylan, is also accused of hitting the victim and was kicked off the ship in Jamaica for disruptive behavior.
Ryan continued on the cruise but was arrested upon its return to Miami. She faces charges of battery on an elderly person.
The incident is under investigation, and it’s unclear what led to the altercation. Dylan’s whereabouts and potential charges are unknown.
This is not the first recent case of alleged assault on a cruise ship. Last month, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Florida after being accused of raping a 20-year-old passenger on a Royal Caribbean ship.
