- GOP’s in-person voting surge up against Dem dominance with mail-in ballots in deep blue state (foxnews.com)
In New Jersey, a traditionally Democratic state, Republican voters are outpacing their Democratic counterparts in early in-person voting.
As of Tuesday, 144,105 Republicans had voted early in person, compared to 139,524 Democrats. This is a significant increase from 2022, when only 65,563 early votes were cast.
Experts attribute this surge to former President Trump’s encouragement of early voting. Trump has held rallies in New Jersey and urged his supporters to vote early.
While Democrats still have an edge in mail-in voting, Republicans are closing the gap.
New Jersey Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli believes the party can win both the presidential and down-ballot races. He says, “New Jersey is not a deep blue state. We can win here.”
