Canadian Police Seize Record Drug Stash

Canadian authorities have dismantled a massive illicit drug lab in British Columbia, the largest of its kind in the country. The lab produced and distributed fentanyl and methamphetamine across Canada and internationally.

Massive Quantities of Drugs Seized

Police seized 54 kilograms of fentanyl, 390 kilograms of methamphetamine, and smaller amounts of cocaine, MDMA, and cannabis. They also confiscated “massive” amounts of precursor chemicals used in drug production.

Arsenal of Weapons

In addition to the drugs, police found an arsenal of weapons, including 89 firearms, small explosive devices, and ammunition. Body armor and $500,000 in cash were also recovered.

Suspect Arrested

A suspect, Gaganpreet Randhawa, was arrested and charged with numerous drug and firearms offenses. Authorities believe the operation was run by organized crime.

Fentanyl Crisis

Fentanyl is a major contributor to the ongoing drug crisis in Canada. Nearly 48,000 people have died from fentanyl-related overdoses since 2016.

International Cooperation

The bust follows recent arrests linked to a transnational crime group that was smuggling drugs from Mexico and South America into Canada and overseas. Authorities continue to work together to combat organized crime and drug trafficking.
