Clinton Defends Bush Endorsement

Additional Coverage:

Former President Bill Clinton has praised George W. Bush’s decision to remain neutral in the 2024 presidential race. Clinton believes that Bush’s silence stems from his desire to avoid alienating the Republican Party.

Bush is the only living former president who has not publicly endorsed a candidate. However, his daughter, Barbara Bush, has expressed support for the Democratic vice presidential candidate.

Nearly 240 former Bush staffers have endorsed the Democratic ticket, including Mitt Romney and John McCain’s former aides.

Despite his neutrality, sources say Bush has been working quietly to maintain Republican control of the Senate.

Clinton also revealed that Bush is a fan of Democratic Senate candidate Colin Allred, who is running against Ted Cruz in Texas.
