Handmaid’s Tale Sales Soar, But Melania Book Tops Charts

Margaret Atwood’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” has skyrocketed in popularity, soaring from No. 209 to No. 2 on Amazon’s bestseller list after Donald Trump’s election victory. Sales surged by a staggering 6,866% as of Thursday.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump’s memoir has claimed the top spot on Amazon’s list, reflecting the country’s deep divisions. Barnes & Noble also saw “Melania” rise to No. 1, while “The Handmaid’s Tale” took the No. 10 spot.

Trump’s victory has also boosted sales of other dystopian novels. George Orwell’s “1984” witnessed a 250% increase, and Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451” soared by 333%.

Despite these trends, incoming Vice President JD Vance’s memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” held the No. 7 spot on Amazon, highlighting the country’s contrasting perspectives.
