California House races determine US majority

Additional Coverage:

The fate of the House majority remains uncertain as several races in the West are still undecided. California has the most outstanding races, with Republican incumbents facing tough challenges in districts near Los Angeles.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise believes that Republican incumbents in California are likely to hold onto their seats. However, in New York, three GOP lawmakers who won in the 2022 midterm elections are projected to lose.

Arizona, Oregon, Alaska, Nebraska, and Iowa also have close races that will impact the House majority. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries emphasizes that the election is still undecided and that all votes must be counted.

Democrats are closely watching the western states for final results, as their path to victory has narrowed. The first party to reach 218 seats will control the House of Representatives.
