US Airstrikes Target Houthi Weapons in Yemen

The US military has conducted airstrikes against Houthi facilities in Yemen, targeting advanced weapons used to attack ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The US Central Command stated that the strikes hit weapons storage facilities in Houthi-controlled areas, but declined to provide further details.

The Houthis have been launching drone and missile attacks on shipping in response to Israel’s conflict in Gaza. They have also attacked Israeli territory, including a deadly drone strike on Tel Aviv.

Israel has retaliated with airstrikes on Houthi infrastructure.

The US airstrikes come after the Houthis claimed to have shot down an American drone.

Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi expressed skepticism about President-elect Donald Trump’s ability to resolve the regional conflict.
