American Student Finds Affordability and Adventure in Sweden
Omarni Webb, determined to pursue a master’s degree without debt, explored universities in Sweden, inspired by her love for Ikea. She found affordable programs at Mälardalen University and Stockholm University.
In Sweden, Webb enjoyed the safety and affordability. She traveled extensively to nearby countries and appreciated the Swedish lifestyle, which included ample sunlight during summer and a relaxed work environment.
Despite the high cost of entertainment and dining out, Webb found groceries inexpensive. Her single-room dorm and tuition fees were also affordable, allowing her to complete her degree for around $15,000.
After graduating, Webb faced difficulties finding a job in Sweden and returned to the US. However, she credits her experience with shaping her career in data analytics and forging lifelong friendships. She believes her time in Sweden was invaluable and has had a lasting impact on her.
