Delphi Murder Suspect Found Guilty

In a landmark verdict, Richard Allen was found guilty on Monday of all charges related to the brutal murders of Abby Williams and Libby German. The jury’s decision came after four days of intense deliberations.

Allen, who remained expressionless throughout the proceedings, was convicted of felony murder, murder, and attempted kidnapping. The verdict brought a sense of relief to the community, which had been deeply affected by the tragedy.

The slayings occurred on February 13, 2017, when the two girls were hiking on a local trail. Their bodies were discovered the following day, bearing signs of violence.

During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence linking Allen’s firearm to the unspent round found near the victims. However, the defense disputed the accuracy of the analysis, claiming it was unreliable.

Despite the lack of DNA evidence, the jury found Allen’s confessions and other evidence compelling. The defense argued that Allen was in a psychotic state when he made the confessions, but the prosecution countered that he was lucid and aware of his actions.

Allen’s sentencing is scheduled for December 20th. The victims’ families, who have been gagged from speaking about the case, are expected to receive some closure during the sentencing phase.
